Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of spatial disorders (neglect and optic ataxia)

Neglect is a multicomponential syndrome, whereby  several deficits interact (visual spatial attention, ocular-motor system, proprioception and motor control).
Hence, the rehabilitation of neglect patients can be assessed  through various approaches, depending on the principal component of the syndrome.

  • Adaptation to a prismatic displacement of the visual field (LINK ARTICOLO 1 E ARTICOLO 2 )
  • Active or passive proprioceptive stimulation (LINK ARTICOLO 3 )

Optic Ataxia is a disorder in programming upper limb movements toward a visual stimulus, in the absence of primary motor or sensorial deficits, that account for the symptoms.Rehabilitation of optic ataxia consists in a pointing training performed with the upper limb toward visual stimuli, also with the use of prismatic lens.
